About...

As a child I was at my happiest with a piece of paper and a bunch of coloured pencils. After spending my first years in Michigan, I grew up near Edinburgh where we would often walk in the country or on the coast, and I was lucky to spend most of the holidays with my grandparents in the Lake District. My aim in life was to go to art college and be an artist, and I loved my time studying Fine Art at Edinburgh College of Art.

Life took a different turn when I moved to Manchester to study and then work in the fashion industry, before settling in Hebden Bridge with my husband and children. The landscape of Calderdale is always inspiring – valleys, rivers, woods, moors and lots of atmospheric weather!

My work is about capturing light and the beauty of our natural environment. With my finished paintings my aim is to offer a lasting window onto nature, a reminder of the elemental essence of our planet, and an opportunity to pause and reflect – and offer a peaceful moment. Creating the work is where I find my own peace and contentment.

Over recent years I have been successfully selling both original works and prints, and it is a privilege to have my work on walls locally, further afield in the UK, and around the world.
